ELECTRICITY: FPL

Florida Power & Light is the company that provides electricity in Brevard County.  You can start new service online at: https://app.fpl.com/sowww2/SowwwHtmlController?command=displayWelcomeCommand

To start service at a home, you will need:

  1. Address where you want service

  2. Social security/social insurance or driver’s license number

  3. Preferred start date

FPL uses a credit scoring system to determine if a deposit is required in order to open an account. Customers who are required to pay a deposit are required to provide a deposit equal to two month’s expected electricity use when the home is occupied, which is standard utility practice.  For example, if you occupy your home year-round and use an average of $100 of electricity per month, the deposit amount would be $200.  Your deposit is refunded with any earned interest when the account is closed or after 23 months of consecutive service barring any problems with payment during that time.
